This area is where you will spend most of your time working on Monument to the Underground Railroad. It gives detailed directions for a suggested way of completing the project. Because each class using this FreedomQuest is unique, the same set of directions may not work in every setting. Your teacher may suggest other ways to work through the steps. Look to him or her for guidance.

The directions take you through a series of steps over a two-week period to accomplish the task. You'll find that some steps are optional, and you have choices to make in other places. Sometimes you'll work as a whole class; other times you'll work in small groups or as individuals. The group work results in the creation of several design packages. From these, choose one design to submit to the Freedom Center.
