Making Our Case

You may find this form useful for organizing your thoughts for your task force presentation. In the first column, identify information you think is important. In the second column, note how that information helps you understand your role's perspectives better or how it can help you make your case. In the third column, describe how this information affects your thinking on or conclusions about the development project. If strong arguments emerge from this process, use them in your presentation. An example is shown.

IMPACT ON THINKING ABOUT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The roots of the Gullah people are in Africa and they have the strongest ties to it of any African Americans. Because the Gullah are descended from enslaved Africans, the Lowcountry region they live in has symbolic significance for all African Americans, most of whom could trace their roots to here. The Gullah should not be displaced by development from the Lowcountry because that would weaken the bonds between Africa and all African Americans.
