Steps 3 to 6-Research Cycle
  • Gather with your group to conduct research on your role. Work together as a group visiting a series of links on the World Wide Web. You will probably need several class sessions to do this.

  • The purpose of visiting the links is to collect information to learn more about your role. The information you collect will be used to complete later steps in the process-assignments for a portfolio and a presentation to the entire task force.

  • Note that each role visits a different set of links. Other groups can only learn about your group's views by what you present to them later. This is why it is important to do a thorough job of conducting research.

  • Ideally, all group members will visit and review each link for their role. But if time is limited, divide up the total number of links and assign a portion of them to each group member.

  • Use these two tools to help you collect information:
    • The template Summarizing Internet Resources. Print this form and make copies as needed. Save these forms to place in your portfolio.

    • "Questions to think about as you review these links" are located at the start of each section of links. Use them to guide your thinking.
