Year Two of the Underground Railroad Project
The 2000 Critical Fusion Project was the second of a three-year pilot project. This year's participants included Miami University's Interactive Media Studies Center, Cincinnati Bell, the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, the Hughes Center (Cincinnati, Ohio), the Summit Country Day School (Cincinnati, Ohio), and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. This year's project began in January 2000 and concluded in May 2000. This year's participants formed into two teams; one team focused on the Gaines/Garner (an African-American family), the other on the Beechers (a white family). Students research their teams' family history, then utilized web-based technology to post their findings on the Internet. |
